Sunday Worship

Sunday Worship

Sunday morning worship is at 11.00 am, except in July & August when it begins at 10.30 am.  The service lasts for about an hour and includes hymns, prayers and bible readings. There is usually a talk for the children and a sermon or meditation for the grown-ups. Children in the Sunday Club leave for their own activities after about 20 minutes.

On the fourth Sundays of January, April and October the Sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated both at the main 11.00 am service and an additional service held at 6.30 pm.

Members of the congregation are given a written invitation to these services but members of other Churches are welcome to attend and receive the sacrament.

In the other months of the year, a short celebration of Communion is held after the main 11.00 am service; again, everyone is welcome at the Lord's Table.

Refreshments are served in the Gerard Hall after the service - a time to catch up with news, enjoy company and make new friends.  There is also a Fair Trade stall with Traidcraft items on sale, including such things as sweets, groceries and cleaning materials plus seasonal products at Christmas and Easter.

Until the completion of our new church, our services are being held in the former St Rule’s Church in Church Street (DD5 4JP).  The Gerard Hall is in a separate building next door, occupying the corner of Church Street and Maule Street (DD5 4JN).
